Eight Commitments

The Ethical Humanist Society of the Triangle promotes the use of reason and science in the search for and commitment to living an ethical life that benefits all humanity.

Rather than relying on a higher power or external authority we believe that personal inquiry, responsibility and accountability are the best bases for ethical decision making.

Our weekly forums seek to broaden our understanding of ethics and human nature, and our congregational community encourages us to share diverse opinions, friendship, and camaraderie.   We welcome humanists, atheists, agnostics, deists, and post theists, young and old, from all backgrounds to share our journey.

We meet every Sunday from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at Extraordinary Ventures in Chapel Hill. Community leaders, professors, social activists, as well as our own members inform the society on ethical issues confronting our local community, as well as issues of national and international importance.  See our Calendar and Spotlight for more information about our upcoming programs.
